What PMNM.in is
PMNM.in is a free collection of India-focused calculators and utilities. Every tool runs entirely in your browser: you type numbers, JavaScript does the arithmetic, and nothing you enter is transmitted anywhere.
The site is deliberately not a general calculator directory. There is no basic percentage calculator here, no generic BMI tool and no stopwatch. What is here are tools for questions that are specific to India and genuinely hard to answer by hand — decoding a CTC into a monthly bank credit, planning attendance against a 75% rule, converting a bigha in one state into square feet, pricing a marketplace listing after returns eat into the margin, or writing a rupee amount in words for a cheque.
Why it exists
Most calculators answer a smaller question than the one the user actually has. Someone searching for a salary calculator usually is not curious about arithmetic — they are deciding whether to take an offer. Someone converting bigha to acre is usually checking a plot before paying for it. A seller working out fees is deciding a price.
So the tools here aim at the decision. Where a comparison is what you need, the tool compares. Where the honest answer is "it depends on your state, your employer or your notification", the tool says that, tells you which input controls it, and points you at the authority instead of manufacturing false precision.
How the tools are built
- Client-side by default. No account, no upload, no server round-trip. This is a privacy decision first and a speed decision second.
- The method is published. Each page carries the formula, a worked example, the assumptions and the limitations. If you disagree with an assumption you can see exactly where it enters the result.
- Rules live in versioned data, not in code. Tax slabs, land unit conventions, exam age bands, university conversion formulas and marketplace fees sit in separate data files that record the financial year or source they came from, so they can be corrected without rewriting a calculator.
- Defaults are editable. Anywhere a number varies — a state's stamp duty, a discom's tariff, a category's referral fee — it is an input with a starting value, never a hidden constant.
Our editorial rules
- We do not invent statistics, ratings, reviews, testimonials or user counts. You will not find any on this site, including in its structured data.
- We do not claim professional credentials. PMNM.in does not provide financial, tax, legal, medical or employment advice, and it does not pretend to.
- We do not write filler. If a section has nothing useful to say about a specific tool, it is not on that page.
- We label advertising clearly and keep it away from calculator controls, so an ad can never be mistaken for a button.
- When something is uncertain or varies, we say so on the page rather than in a footnote nobody reads.
Where a result should not be the last word
Anything with legal or financial consequence deserves a second source. Salary and tax results depend on your employer's structure and your declarations. Gratuity, notice period and settlement depend on your contract and applicable state rules. Government exam eligibility is decided by the current notification. Land conversions must match the registered document. Construction quantities are estimates, not a structural design. Our disclaimer sets this out in full.
Corrections
If a calculation looks wrong, an assumption is out of date, or a rule has changed, tell us at contact@pmnm.in and include the tool name and the numbers you used. Correcting a formula is a higher priority than adding a new tool.
