Is a signature added here legally valid?
It is a visible signature image, equivalent to signing a printout and scanning it. That is widely accepted for everyday business use. It is not a cryptographic digital signature under the Information Technology Act, which requires a Digital Signature Certificate from a licensed Certifying Authority. For anything requiring a legally recognised digital signature, use a DSC token.
Is black-box redaction safe?
Not if the tool only draws a rectangle — the text stays underneath and can be copied out or recovered. That mistake has caused real disclosures in court filings and government documents. Can I remove a password from a PDF here?
No. These tools cannot open an encrypted PDF without its password, and providing a way to strip protection from documents would be straightforwardly misusable. If it is your own document, open it in a reader with the password and export an unprotected copy.
