Adding something to a finished PDF — a page number, a draft watermark, a header, a signature block, a highlight — normally means opening paid software. These tools do the common cases in the browser by writing new content onto the existing pages, leaving the original text and images untouched underneath. They are deliberately not a full PDF editor: they do the things people actually need before sending a document, and they say clearly where the limits are.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF here?
No, and no browser-based tool can do it reliably. Text in a PDF is positioned glyph by glyph with no notion of paragraphs, so changing a word means recalculating everything around it. These tools add new content on top of the page. To change existing wording, edit the source document and export a new PDF.
Will a watermark appear behind or in front of the content?
In front, drawn onto the page with the opacity you choose. A low opacity of 10–20% reads clearly as a watermark without making the text underneath hard to read.
Does adding a watermark make the document secure?
No. A watermark is a visual mark, not a protection. Anyone can remove it by re-rendering the page or by cropping. If content must not be readable, remove it with the redaction tool instead.
What fonts can I use when adding text?
The standard PDF fonts — Helvetica, Times and Courier — which every PDF reader can display without embedding. This keeps the file small and guarantees it renders identically everywhere. Devanagari and other Indic scripts are not supported by these built-in fonts.
