YouTube Sponsorship Rate Calculator

Price a YouTube integration or dedicated video from views, niche and placement.

A YouTube sponsorship is not priced like an advertisement, because a brand is buying your endorsement as well as your audience. This calculator builds a rate from the numbers you can evidence in YouTube Studio — average views, retention and audience geography — and adjusts for format, placement and rights.

Channel and deal details

Retention affects how many people actually see an integration.

The deal

Mid-roll after the hook is seen by the most viewers and is worth the most.

What the YouTube Sponsorship Rate Calculator does

Sponsored integrations command a much higher effective CPM than YouTube's own advertising, because the brand gets a recommendation from someone the audience trusts and the integration cannot be skipped the way a pre-roll advertisement can.

Retention matters here in a way it does not on Instagram. An integration placed at the eight-minute mark is seen only by viewers who are still watching, which is why average percentage viewed enters the calculation.

How to use this tool

  1. Take your average views over the first 30 days across your last ten uploads of similar length, from YouTube Studio.
  2. Enter your average percentage viewed — Studio reports this under audience retention.
  3. Select your niche and the share of your audience in India, both available in Studio analytics.
  4. Choose the format and placement. A mid-roll integration after the hook is the most valuable position.
  5. Set usage rights and exclusivity, then add your production cost per video.

Formula and method

Effective views = Average views × Share of audience in India Base = (Effective views ÷ 1,000) × ₹550 × Niche factor × Retention factor Retention factor = Average % viewed ÷ 45%, capped 0.6× to 1.6× Format: Integration 1.0 · Dedicated 2.2 · Mention 0.45 · Shorts 0.35 Placement: Pre-roll 0.85 · Mid-roll 1.0 · End-roll 0.6 Quote = Content fee + Usage rights + Exclusivity + Production

Worked example

Example: 80,000 views, tech channel, mid-roll integration

Indian views (80%)64,000
Base at ₹550 CPM₹35,200
Niche 1.4× · retention 1.0×₹49,280
Integration, mid-roll₹49,280
Plus ₹8,000 production≈ ₹57,280
Quote range₹46,000 – ₹80,000

A dedicated video on the same channel prices at more than twice the integration — which is the right premium, since it commits the whole upload to one brand.

What your result means

The effective CPM is the number brands compare against other media buys. Sponsored YouTube integrations commonly run several times the CPM of platform advertising, and the reason is endorsement rather than reach.

Format is the largest lever. A dedicated video is worth roughly twice an integration, and both are worth far more than a brief mention.

The floor should cover production and the opportunity cost of the upload slot. Below that, the deal is costing you a video you could have made for your own channel.

Important considerations

  • Views in the first 30 days is the right basis. Lifetime views on an older video are not what the brand is buying.
  • Long-form videos keep earning views for months. Some creators negotiate a bonus tied to view milestones, which is fair when the base is set on 30-day performance.
  • Disclose paid partnerships properly. YouTube requires it and Indian advertising guidelines expect it; failing to do so risks both the channel and the client relationship.
  • A dedicated video ties your reputation to the product far more than an integration. Charge for that and decline brands you would not use yourself.
  • Agencies commonly take 15–25%. Quote gross so the commission does not erode your rate.
  • Long-term retainers with a brand are usually worth a discount, since they remove the sales cost of finding each deal.

Limitations of this tool

  • The base CPM and multipliers are this model's assumptions. No official Indian rate card exists.
  • It cannot price your track record, conversion performance or the strength of your audience's purchase intent.
  • Shorts monetisation and pricing behave very differently from long-form and are only roughly approximated here.

Frequently asked questions

How much do YouTubers charge for sponsorship in India?

It varies enormously by niche and views. This model prices a 64,000-view Indian tech integration at roughly ₹50,000–₹60,000. An entertainment channel with the same views would price considerably lower, and a finance channel higher.

Is a dedicated video worth more than an integration?

Substantially — this model prices it at about 2.2×. The whole upload is committed to the brand, your audience associates you with it, and you lose the slot for your own content.

Should I price on subscribers or views?

Views. Subscriber counts have become weakly correlated with reach on YouTube, and brands know it. Quote from your 30-day average views and be ready to show Studio analytics.

What CPM should a sponsorship be?

Sponsored integrations typically command several times the CPM of YouTube's own advertising, because the brand is buying endorsement and unskippable placement. The effective CPM shown above is the figure to cite in a negotiation.
