A PDF made from phone photos usually has pages the shape of the photos — tall, narrow, and nothing like a sheet of paper. Indian offices, portals and print shops expect A4. This forces every page to a proper A4 size with the photo centred inside a margin.
Your images never leave your device. They are read and processed by your browser and written into a PDF in memory. Nothing is uploaded.

What the JPG to A4 PDF does
A4 is 210 × 297 mm, the standard everywhere in India. The difference from a general image-to-PDF conversion is that the page size is fixed rather than following the image, so a document prints correctly and looks right when someone opens it.
Each photo is scaled to fit inside the margins with its proportions preserved and centred on the page. A photo shaped differently from A4 leaves white space at the sides, which is exactly what a printed document should look like.
How to use this tool
- Select your photos and check the order in the list.
- Leave the page size on A4 — that is what Indian paperwork expects.
- Choose portrait for documents, landscape for wide photos or certificates.
- Set a 10 mm margin so nothing sits in the printer's unprintable edge.
- Press Create A4 PDF and download.
Fitting a photo to an A4 page
Worked example
Example: four phone photos of a certificate
| Photos | 3024 × 4032 px each |
| Page | A4 portrait, 10 mm margin |
| Image area | 190 × 277 mm |
| Result | 4 A4 pages, photo centred on each |
A 3:4 photo on a portrait A4 page leaves a small band of white at top and bottom — normal, and what a printed page looks like.
What your result means
Every page is exactly A4, so the document prints predictably and satisfies portals that check page dimensions.
White space at the edges is expected when the photo shape does not match the page. Crop the photos first if you want them to fill more of the page.
Important considerations
- Crop your photos to the document edges before converting. That does more for the result than any setting here.
- Photograph in even light with the page filling the frame, and avoid portrait mode.
- For photos that should look like scans rather than photographs, use Photo to Scanned PDF.
- If the file must stay under an upload limit, reduce the quality setting before compressing.
- Legal size is used by some Indian courts and older government forms — check before assuming A4.
Limitations of this tool
- Images are capped at 2400–3000 pixels on the longest side to keep memory use manageable on phones.
- Photographs are embedded as JPEG, so PNG transparency is flattened onto white.
- Perspective distortion cannot be corrected — photograph the page square-on for the best result.
Frequently asked questions
What size is A4 in pixels?
It depends on resolution. A4 is 210 × 297 mm, which at 300 DPI is 2480 × 3508 pixels and at 150 DPI is 1240 × 1754. The PDF stores it as 595 × 842 points regardless of the image resolution.
Why is there white space around my photo?
Because the photo is a different shape from A4. Proportions are preserved rather than stretched, so the difference shows as margin. Crop the photo to a 1:1.41 ratio to fill the page.
Should I use A4 or Letter?
A4 for anything in India. Letter is the American standard and is slightly wider and shorter.
