What the A4 PDF Maker does
Each image becomes one page. The file list is numbered and reorderable, so a document assembled from several sources ends up in the right sequence before it is built.
Once built, the result works with every other tool here — add page numbers, a header, a watermark, or merge it with an existing PDF.
Page size is fixed for the whole document rather than following each image, which is the difference between a document and a folder of pictures. A portal that checks page dimensions, a print shop that prints a batch, and a person opening the file in a reader all expect consistent pages. An image-shaped page fails all three tests even though the content is identical.
Beyond A4 there is A3 for drawings, plans and posters, A5 for booklets and notices, and the American Letter and Legal sizes. Legal is worth knowing about in India because some courts and older government forms still specify it, and a document prepared on A4 will be visibly short when printed on Legal paper.
Margins matter more than they look. A printer physically cannot put ink within roughly 3–5 mm of the paper edge, where the feed mechanism grips the sheet. A 12 mm margin keeps content clear of that band on every consumer printer, and also leaves room for a staple or a punched hole without cutting into text.

How the document is assembled
For each image, in list order:
1. Add a page of the chosen size and orientation.
2. Scale the image to fit inside the margins,
preserving proportions.
3. Centre it on the page.

What your result means
One image, one page — so the number of pages is simply the number of images.
Order is set before building, and cannot be changed afterwards without the reorder tool.
Important considerations
- Get the order right before building — reordering afterwards is possible but an extra step.
- Mixing very different image shapes gives inconsistent-looking pages. Crop to a similar ratio first.
- For photographs of documents, run them through the scan tool first for a much cleaner result.
- A3 is useful for drawings and plans; A5 for booklets and notices.
- Add page numbers after building, not before.
Limitations of this tool
- Images are capped at 2400–3000 pixels on the longest side to keep memory use manageable on phones.
- Photographs are embedded as JPEG, so PNG transparency is flattened onto white.
- Perspective distortion cannot be corrected — photograph the page square-on for the best result.
- Images only — text blocks cannot be typed directly into this tool. Use Add Text to PDF on the result.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add text pages as well as images?
Not directly. Build the PDF from images, then use Add Text to PDF on the result, or create a text page with the HTML to PDF tool and merge it in.
How do I change the page order after building?
Use the reorder tool. It is easier to get the order right in the file list before building.
Can I mix portrait and landscape pages?
Not in one pass — one orientation applies to the whole document. Build two PDFs and combine them with the merge tool.
What is the difference from JPG to A4 PDF?
Very little — this one offers more page sizes and is framed around assembling a document. Either produces the same kind of result.
