What the PDF Print Size Converter does
The conversion is the same as the page size converter, framed around printing: the margin option is on by default, because clipped content is the most common printing problem and almost always avoidable.
Every printer has an unprintable border where the paper feed grips the sheet — typically 3–5 mm. Content placed inside it is silently cut off.
How to use this tool
- Check the current page sizes with the page size checker, particularly for merged documents.
- Select the PDF and choose the paper size you will print on.
- Leave the printable margin option on unless you specifically need edge-to-edge.
- Convert, then print a single test page before running the full job.
Preparing pages for print
Each page is rendered at 200 DPI and placed on the target size:
With a safe margin (default):
available = page size − 2 × 28 points (about 10 mm)
Edge to edge:
available = full page size
scale = min(available width ÷ image width,
available height ÷ image height)
Most printers cannot print within 3–5 mm of the edge, which
is why the margin option is on by default.

Print shops charge for reprints caused by a badly prepared file. Ten minutes of preparation is usually cheaper.
What your result means
Every page comes out the same size, so printing and binding are predictable.
Text becomes an image, since changing page dimensions requires re-rendering. Keep the original if the document must stay searchable.
Always print one test page before a long run.
Important considerations
- Do this last, after merging, reordering and numbering.
- A3 costs considerably more per page at Indian print shops — check before converting a long document to it.
- Legal size is still used by some Indian courts and older government forms.
- For double-sided printing, an even page count avoids a stray blank sheet.

Limitations of this tool
- Pages are rasterised, so text is no longer selectable, searchable or accessible.
- One orientation applies to the whole document.
- Custom paper sizes are not offered — only the five standard ones.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.
