What the Remove PDF Pages does
Selecting pages by number is error-prone, which is why this tool renders a preview of every page first. You tick what you want gone, and the remaining pages are copied into a new document in their original order.
The original file on your device is never modified — the tool produces a new PDF for download, so a mistake costs nothing but a second attempt.
How to use this tool
- Select your PDF. Thumbnails of every page are generated on your device — a long document takes a few seconds.
- Tick the pages you want to remove. Ticked pages are outlined so the selection is obvious.
- Use Select all and Clear if it is quicker to invert your thinking.
- Press Remove selected pages and download the new PDF.
How pages are removed
1. The document is parsed and every page rendered as a thumbnail.
2. Ticked page indices are collected.
3. Pages are deleted from the highest index downwards, so that
removing one page never shifts the position of the next.
4. The remaining pages are written to a new PDF.
Pages out = Pages in − Pages ticked
At least one page must remain; removing every page is refused.

Removing pages from the end backwards is what makes this reliable — deleting page 4 first would otherwise renumber pages 9 and 10.
What your result means
The page count in the result confirms what happened: pages in, minus the ones you ticked.
File size may not fall much. Removing three text pages from a scanned document barely changes the size, because the large images are on the pages you kept.
Nothing is destroyed. The original file on your device is untouched; the tool hands you a new one.
Important considerations
- Thumbnails are rendered at low resolution for speed. Open the page in a PDF reader if you need to read the content before deciding.
- Documents beyond about 200 pages only render the first 200 thumbnails, to keep memory use sane. Use page ranges in the extract tool for very long documents.
- Removing pages does not renumber anything printed on the pages themselves. If the document shows "Page 5 of 15", that text stays as it is.
- If you want to keep a handful of pages rather than remove most of them, the extract tool is far quicker.
- At least one page must remain — a PDF with no pages is not a valid file.
Limitations of this tool
- Everything runs in your device's memory, so very large documents — several hundred high-resolution scanned pages — can be slow or exhaust available memory. The tool reports a clear error rather than crashing silently.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. Remove the password in a PDF reader first and save an unprotected copy.
- Damaged or partially downloaded PDFs cannot be parsed. If a file fails, try re-downloading it from the original source.
- Only the first 200 pages are shown as thumbnails; longer documents are better handled with the extract or split tools.
- Bookmarks pointing at removed pages are not repaired, since bookmarks are not carried across.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove blank pages from a scanned PDF?
Upload it and look at the thumbnails — blank pages are obvious as white rectangles. Tick them and press remove. There is no automatic blank detection, because faint scanner noise makes it unreliable.
Does removing pages reduce the file size?
Only in proportion to what those pages contained. Removing text pages from an image-heavy scan changes very little; removing scanned image pages can reduce it substantially.
Can I undo it?
Your original file is never modified, so there is nothing to undo — just start again with the original. The tool always produces a new file for download.
Why are thumbnails slow on a long document?
Each page is rendered on your device, one at a time, so nothing is uploaded. A 100-page document takes a few seconds. Progress is shown while it works.
