What the Government Form Photo PDF does
The tool is deliberately generic: every dimension is an input rather than a preset, because presets go stale the moment a department revises its notification. Read the size from your form, type it in, and the sheet is built to match.

The footer label matters if you print several sizes — a 30 × 40 photo and a 35 × 45 photo look identical once cut.
What your result means
Print at 100% scale with no "fit to page" or "shrink to fit" setting, or the physical size will be wrong. Check the printed result with a ruler.
Check the size against the form with a ruler before attaching anything. Wrong-sized photographs are a common cause of rejection.
Print spares. A full sheet costs the same as a few and applications frequently need more copies than stated.
Important considerations
- Read the notification rather than assuming. Departments specify different sizes and change them between cycles.
- Many forms also specify background colour, how recent the photograph must be, and whether the name and date must appear on it.
- Some forms require the photograph to be attested or signed across — leave space if so.
- For the digital upload version of the same photograph, use the photo resizer, which targets pixel dimensions and file size.
- Keep a labelled sheet of each size you commonly need.
- Photograph specifications are set by each notification or portal and change between cycles. The dimensions here are configurable defaults, not a guarantee that any particular department will accept the output. Always confirm the required size against the current official instructions.
Limitations of this tool
- Images are capped at 2400–3000 pixels on the longest side to keep memory use manageable on phones.
- Photographs are embedded as JPEG, so PNG transparency is flattened onto white.
- Perspective distortion cannot be corrected — photograph the page square-on for the best result.
- The tool sizes and tiles photographs; it does not verify any department's requirements.
- Background colour, framing and recency requirements are not checked.
