About this tool
One tool for all three formats, with the output format as a setting rather than a separate page. Useful when you have a mixed folder of images, or when you are not sure which format you want until you see the size difference.
Your images never leave your device. Each file is decoded by your browser, drawn to a canvas and re-encoded in the new format in memory. Nothing is uploaded, which matters when the image is an ID document, a signature or a private photograph.

What the Image Converter does
Mixed input is fine — JPG, PNG and WebP can all go in together and all come out in whichever format you pick. Several files come back as a single ZIP.
The choice between the three comes down to what the image is and where it is going. JPG for photographs and anything being uploaded to an Indian portal. PNG for screenshots, logos and transparency, at the cost of size. WebP for websites, where it beats both on size but is not universally accepted elsewhere.

What your result means
The real size change is reported, including when a file grows.
Several files arrive as one ZIP rather than nine separate downloads.
Transparency is kept for PNG and WebP output, and flattened for JPG.
Things to watch out for
- If a portal names a format, use that one — the rest of this advice does not apply.
- Converting a photograph to PNG will make it much larger. That is the format, not a fault.
- Every lossy conversion costs a little quality. Convert once, from the original, rather than repeatedly.
- The resize option is the fastest way to cut file size when the dimensions are larger than needed.
- For a specific KB target, use the KB optimiser.
Limitations of this tool
- JPG, PNG and WebP only. HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, SVG and RAW are not supported.
- Animated images produce a single frame.
- Images are capped at 8000 px on the longest side.
- EXIF metadata is not carried across — usually a benefit, since it can contain GPS location.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes, and the input formats can be mixed. Two or more files come back as a single ZIP.
Can I convert HEIC photos from an iPhone?
No. Browsers other than Safari cannot decode HEIC, and bundling a decoder would mean a large download for every visitor. Set your iPhone to Settings → Camera → Formats → "Most Compatible" to get JPG from the camera instead.
Which format is best?
JPG for photographs and Indian portal uploads, PNG for screenshots, logos and transparency, WebP for your own website. If a form names a format, use that one.
Is any image uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is decoded, drawn and re-encoded in your browser. Nothing is transmitted.
